The purpose of this event is to highlight the usage of Digital Media for our generation-y students, who are approaching graduation dates fairly soon. We will be covering the importance of digital resume’s and online portfolios, as well as how social media has impacted the job market, and use it to search for job opportunities. Also, we will be highlighting LinkedIn and other web platforms to successfully market yourself for today’s work field.
The event is in collaboration with Target, Corp. who will be sending brand ambassadors to talk about how corporate companies like Target use social media, and how to brand yourself with tips like the “Elevator Pitch.” Target will also be looking for possible candidates for their internship and job opportunities. In addition, we will have S.J. Velasquez, Digital Engagement Editor for The Buffalo News participating in the panel portion of the program.
