At age 15, Kenneth Young was tried under Florida law as an adult and convicted of armed robbery. He received four consecutive life sentences—guaranteeing that he would die in prison. 15 to Life is a story of redemption that begs the question, how should children be treated in the justice system? The film will be followed by a discussion panel featuring:
Moderator Ron Stewart, professor of sociology, Buffalo State
- Umar Adeyola, founder and president of H.E.A.R.T. (Helping Empower At-Risk Teens)
- Craig D. Hannah, City Court Judge, Buffalo, NY
- Teresa Miller, professor at UB Law School; adviser to the Lifer's Group at Attica State Prison; UB Vice Provost of Equity and Inclusion
